Duval Teachers United

CAST Overview & Roster Verification Workshop

Under Florida law, instructional personnel are permitted to review their class rosters for accuracy and to correct any mistakes relating to the identity of students for whom the individual teacher will be held responsible on his/her performance evaluation.

Collaborative Assessment System for Teachers (C.A.S.T) is the evaluation system for teachers that began the 2011-2012 school year.  It was developed from criteria identified from Senate Bill 736, also known as the “The Student Success Act.”  Through a series of learning sessions DTU will cover C.A.S.T. to help prepare our members, help them understand, and meet the requirements of the evaluation system.

Highly recommended for new teachers and teachers that need to review the process.

Teachers, can you answer the following questions?

Who is the teacher of record if I team teach?

What happens if a student is a no show?

If a student transfers to another school within Florida, who is the teacher of record?

If a student transfers from private school or home schooled, who is the teacher of record?

What happens if there is a mistake?

Who is the teacher of record if I am teaching DHR and some of my students are enrolled in another school?

If you cannot answer these questions, you can learn more from the comfort of your home.
