DTU E-Dues Sign Up

The DTU E-Dues sign up continues. Because of a law recently passed through the Florida Legislature, members of DTU will no longer have dues deducted through Duval County Public Schools’ payroll deductions in the 2023-2024 school year. DTU has contracted to have a safe and secure method for dues deductions for its members. In order to maintain your membership in DTU, DCPS employees must sign up through the E-Dues process as soon as possible.

The link to switch to the new process is being sent weekly to the personnel email address of our current DTU members. Look for an email from DTU through the Florida Education Association with the subject, “I’m Sticking with My Union.” If you aren’t getting this email, please contact DTU immediately. Provide your personal email address to Karen Jones at [email protected] or contact your DTU staff representative for assistance. Our goal is to have all current members signed up for the new E-Dues system by the July 1, 2023 deadline. Starting July 1, DCPS will no longer be able to collect dues membership through DCPS.

DTU thanks all those current members who have already completed the process and signed up through E-Dues. Your membership is appreciated. Please assist your fellow members if they are having problems signing up for E-Dues or have them contact DTU for assistance.

2022-2023 Teacher Unit ESSER Bonus

DTU previously negotiated a $1000 ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) Teacher Unit bonus for the 2022-2023 school year. The bonus was delayed as there was a question about whether or not the federal funding was still available. DTU pursued the question and found that the funding is available. Distribution of the funds was finally approved for payment at the May School Board meeting.

To be eligible to receive the bonus, members of the Teacher Bargaining Unit must be employed as full-time employees with DCPS as of June 2, 2023. This will be a $1000 one-time ESSER bonus. Job Share teachers meeting the same employment criteria are eligible for $500.

The Teacher $1000 and $500 bonuses will be paid as a one-time bonus.  As a bonus, DCPS will subtract applicable FICA taxes, federal withholding, and any mandatory payroll expenses from the $1000 and $500 bonus amounts. The bonus payment (minus taxes) is tentatively scheduled to be paid on June 23, 2023 regardless of your pay calendar (Optional or Traditional).

Paraprofessional and UOPD Unit members have already received their ESSER bonus. Their negotiated bonus was $750. The Paraprofessional and UOPD bonuses were subject to the same taxes as teachers, but their bonus was spread across all of their paychecks during the 2022-2023 school year.

This will be the last of the negotiated ESSER Bonus payments.
