We would especially like to thank our DTU Paraprofessional Bargaining Team, DTU UOPD Bargaining Team, and the DTU Teacher Unit Bargaining Team. The many days of difficult work is appreciated.
Teacher Bargaining Unit Results
Teacher ballots were due today, January 5th at 12:00. The teacher ballots were counted today by the DTU Legal department. The teacher contract has been officially ratified by the Teacher Unit with a vote of 80% in favor of the contractual package and 20% against.
The next step in the process is for the Duval County School Board to vote on the contractual package at the School Board meeting scheduled for January 11, 2021. If the contractual package is accepted by the board then the next step would be for the payroll department to work on the payout for the Teacher Unit.
Two adjustments need to be made to the current regular paychecks to reflect the new salary. The first will adjust the old salary rate to the newly ratified pay rate. The second is a one-time lump sum retro payment included with your adjusted regular salary paycheck. Retro pay, remember, includes the money you would have received in your paycheck had the new salary been in effect at the beginning of the work year. Retro pay will include salary adjustments back to July 1, 2020 for work done. After that, the remaining paychecks will reflect the new rate change for Teacher Unit members.
When DTU has the expected pay date for the retro pay, it will be communicated to the members of the Teacher Unit.
Paraprofessional Bargaining Unit Results
Paraprofessional ballots were due on December 11, 2020 and were counted that same day by the DTU Legal department. The vote was 97% in favor of the contractual package and 3% against. The School Board voted on December 16, 2020 to accept the contractual package. Pay raises and retro- pay to include pay increases back to July 1, 2020 for work completed for paraprofessionals were initiated on the December 31, 2020 paycheck.
United Office Personnel of Duval (UOPD) Bargaining Unit Results
UOPD ballots were due on December 11, 2020 and were counted that same day by the DTU Legal department. The vote was 99% in favor of the contractual package and 1% against. The School Board voted on December 16, 2020 to accept the contractual package. Pay raises and retro-pay to include pay increases back to July 1, 2020 for work completed for UOPD employees were initiated on the December 31, 2020 paycheck.
