The Paraprofessional Bargaining Unit has voted on the Tentative Agreement that addresses supplements for the 2020-2021, 2021-2022, and 2022-2023 school years. The agreement includes a supplement of $750 to be paid to all unit members. The votes were counted at the DTU office on June 2, 2021, and the results are as follows:
100% of the ballots submitted were in favor of accepting the agreement. 0% of the ballots submitted were not in favor of accepting the agreement. The agreement has been ratified by the Paraprofessional Unit members.
Below you will find the tentative agreement that will be voted on by the Duval County School Board at a special called meeting by June 9, 2021. Once approved by the School Board, the supplement will be tentatively scheduled for payment as described below. This is a supplement, and it will not be placed on the salary schedule. It is not recurring money, but it counts as salary for purposes of retirement for the 2020-2021 school year. Normal tax rates will be applied to the supplement as well as an 18.59% deduction for retirement.
Paraprofessional Unit: Ratified Tentative Agreement:
A seven-hundred- and fifty-dollar ($750) supplement for the period of July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2021, shall be paid retroactively for the school year. Employees who began employment in a DTU Paraprofessional Unit position will receive supplements as follows:
- 2020-2021: DTU Paraprofessional Unit employees employed after July 1, 2020, will receive a prorated supplement beginning from their start date. The supplement shall be a one-time $750 payment.
- 2021-2022: DTU Paraprofessional Unit employees for the period starting after July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2022, will receive a pro-rated amount of the supplement beginning from their start date. This supplement shall be $750 spread across the employee paychecks.
- 2022-2023: DTU Paraprofessional Unit employees for the period from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023, will receive a pro-rated amount of the supplement beginning from their start date. This supplement shall be $750 spread across the employee paychecks.
- DTU Paraprofessional Unit employees must be employed with the district on each of the supplement disbursement dates to receive the part of the supplement due, including the date any retroactive payment is made.
