DCPS has announced that Technology Services will be performing laptop upgrades for those teachers who wish to participate. The upgrades will be conducted this summer and are voluntary for those teachers who wish to participate. The upgrades will include the new Windows and Microsoft Teams features that have just been released. Also, a full diagnostic will be performed to fix any hardware issues. Finally, the computers will be cleaned, sanitized, and re-imaged.
It is hoped that this update will enhance the District’s ability to provide support for teacher laptops both on and off the District network so that the ServiceDesk can fix more issues right over the phone.
The upgrades will be conducted by DCPS High School Students participating in a summer technology internship. Their goal is to upgrade all teacher laptops this summer.
If you decide to participate in this project, the following will be required:
- Before dropping off your computer, back up all of your data to OneDrive at:
https://duvalschoolsorg.sharepoint.com/sites/InTechInnovations/SitePages/OneDrive.aspx
- When dropping off your computer, provide your contact information (name, work location, email address, and cell phone number, if available). You will receive an email confirmation of your ticket on the district email address provided.
- Once the process is complete, you will be contacted to pick up your device via the ticketing system, email, and phone number you provided. There will be a limited supply of loaner Teacher Laptops for those who will be teaching classes over the Summer but still require an upgrade.
Laptops can be dropped off for upgrades at the following locations from June 8th to July 20th Monday-Thursday from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (locations will be closed on Fridays):
First Coast HS
Ribault HS
Lavilla MS
Jeff Davis MS
Ed White HS
Southside MS
Mandarin MS
Kernan MS
Terry Parker HS
