Managing Antisocial Behavior ESE requirement:

July 1,2012 Senate Bill 1108 was enacted Beginning July 1, 2014 an applicant for renewal of a professional certificate must earn a minimum of 1 college credit or the equivalent in-service points in the area of instruction for teaching students with disabilities

This course presents research on emotional and behavioral problems of students who consistently act out. Participants will learn strategies to reduce and /or prevent the occurrence of disruptive or dangerous outbreaks.       Points: 20 Date: June 8, 2020 Time: 9:00 a.m.

Reading Competency 1, Foundations of Reading:

Effective July 1, 2020 and outlined in House Bill 7055, all students in grades kindergarten through 12 requiring Tier III intensive reading interventions will be taught by a teacher who is certified or endorsed in reading.  If the teacher is not certified in reading or is not reading endorsed when these interventions are identified, the teacher needs to begin working towards certification or endorsement requirements

English Language Learners (ESOL)

DTU is now offering 4 of the 5 courses of ESOL. You can start or finish your ESOL journey with us.  These courses are district approved and count for the ESOL Endorsement.

The courses are:

Applied Linguistics (DTU ELL Module II Second Language Acquisition and Literacy Development)

Cross Cultural Communications (DTU ELL Component Three: Connecting Culture and Academic Achievement)

Curriculum and Materials (DTU ELL Component 4: Language and Literacy and Component 5: Planning for Student Success) 

Methods of Teaching ESOL (DTU ELL Component One: Policy and Advocacy and Component Five: Planning)
